CBN Connect intends to be a "carriers' carrier" providing wholesale broadband connection paths to subscribers' locations in the North Country Tri-county area. CBN Connect, by itself, will not provide telephone services, content, email services, or a direct connection to the Internet. It will provide complete Ethernet broadband paths for retail service providers to use, from CBN Connect's two carrier hotels to subscriber locations. Carrier hotels are central facilities to which multiple telecom companies connect to in order to connect with other networks. CBN Connect will use fiber optic infrastructure to many locations and wireless networks to many other fixed and mobile locations. The carrier hotels will be located in Plattsburgh and Saranac Lake. Many telecom service providers in the area would benefit by using CBN Connect to reach underserved areas.

CBN Connect will work with all of its telecom partners to develop new applications and services that solve shared regional problems, as well as to facilitate the creation of locally-generated and hosted content that best reflects the quality of Adirondack life.
